According to scoobyworld web site it does narrow down to 2.5".
I just got a price from them for a full afterburner 3" decat system for £580 delivered.
This would be made bespoke and would take slightly longer than off the shelf ones and comes with slip joints in 3 sections as no cat required.

also try BTB EXHAUSTS : High Performance Exhaust Manufacturers, they make all of prodrives group n systems they might be able to help, although they might be a bit higher priced, they quality is unsurpased, i have seen their work and the quality just blows me away compared to others, and don't forget the rules , you get what you pay for.

Why don't you just buy a de cat pipe and get a sports cat welded into the center section, it doesn't have to be Subaru specific, you can pick them up cheap on ebay?

I've been through all this lot last year.
I had a H&S special made by them 'through the trade' a true 3'' right though to mate with my nice quiet working Revolution 3'' system.
Even that way it cost £400 iirc.
Bell mouth fitting, huge diameter cat and short, so i hoped for a good 'negligable' flow rate reduction.
After fitting it, it is fine to about 6500 but go to 8000 rpm and it strangles the flow.
This is a 370 bhp Sti V3 with a 20g turbo (etc).
I took it off.
Fitted an API 3'' decat and the engine zings all the way round to the rev limiter. (I race this car on tracks, cruise on the street)
The Miltek systems now use a centre 3'' cat, not in the D/pipe. I think this is the right way to go.(IMHO)
The H&S special: Bitch to wrap!
