Is it possible to easily run low boost without mapping..?
Might be showing some serious ignorance here, but basically, is there anyway of say disconnecting an actuator/solenoid hose to prevent max boost being used, without a switchable map..?
Would be useful when leaving your pride and joy at some garage (ie certain thread about a type r being totalled)..

Lol, do you have a spare hour or so..?

Basically, you'll get the gist by reading first and last couple of pages..
Back to this post, having looked at the pipework in question, would I be correct in thinking that I could achieve the same by clamping to hose that runs to boost solenoid (ie without having to disconnect any pipework)..?

Just tried the clamping idea and it works very well and takes seconds to implement..
This has led me to think about a solenoid valve that could be switched from inside the car IYSWIM..?
I suppose it comes down to how often you're likely to need to do this, however it makes a quick alternative to having a dual boost map etc..!
How about having it so that every time you start up it'd be low boost (valve closed) until you switched (opened valve) for full boost..? Would make it safer for those who have several drivers of their car or, god forbid, some ****** nicks it..!
Thoughts..?
