Default no spark on plugs

i have just dropped in a new sti engine in my 94 sti, i have now found out there is only a spark in number 4 plug, what can be causing this problem, cheers phil.

cam timing.. cam wheels.. what year is the engine from?

its the same engine just been bored out, forged pistons, H beam rods, and all back together.

double check the cambelt.. did you use the arrow on the front of the crank sprocket or the notch on the back.. it should be the notch on the back

images of cambelt fitment here

Also the left bank is on the right when you look at the front of the engine and visa versa etc..

so if it is out slightley would it fire on no 4 plug and thats it? ill take a look now and get back to you, thanks very much simon.

set all the cambelt correct, turned it a few times completley round and lined up the dotted crank line again but all the others were not lined up, why could this be, cheers phil.

the belt moves and won't line up for many rotations.. are the cam wheels and crank lined up?

i didnt realise it would take quite a few turns to line up again, yes everything is set now, i set it up the first time, turned it and noticed it was out, so i did it again, but even though it is all lined up right, i still only got a spark on no4 plug, there isnt even a little spark on any other plug, do you think were looking in the wrong area.

when i had this problem. it was a quarter turn out. would not start but i got a spark from 1/2/4. but out of sink

give us a buzz mate.

a up mate, long time no hear, hows tricks your end, i have put the cam belt on correctly now, but still only have a spark on no4 plug, i will take a look at the ecu pins tomorrow, if its not that i will be stuck, i have tryed everything else, so thanks for the offer dave, ill probably give you a bell soon, thanks phil.

all i keep doing is spending on the scoob.
its off the road at the mo (again) till subaru opens that is, put a fm on & a oil cooler.

but i may find something your over looked. thats what happend to me
i kicked my self when i found the problem, i dont think the ecu would have anything to do with it

anyways, just drop us a line. i'll pop over

well, in april this year, my miss had a baby girl.

a lot of funds went to her

second though, the scoob took some too
i'm in mixed mind to go ahead & finish what i started. or just keep it at the 1.1bar.

i was going to get the live map board & boost map. & take the boost to 1.35 bar

i might see how she runs. then deside in spring
