ive got a 98 sti and there mechanical, im sure they were hyd on the early ones but changed them after a few years

Phase 2 engines with the central coil pack are shim adjusted tappets..... my99/00

You need a Service Tool to depress the bucket in order to get the shim out on the UK Spec Impreza's.
