Default STi7 Type UK engine 2nd Question

Anybody out there with an STi7 Type UK get piston knock (slap) when the engine has just started.

I get it for the first mile or two. I know there nothing wrong with the car and it does not concern me in the slightest (yet). but interested to see if I'm the only one?

I get it as well. Only lasts approx 2 minutes in the morning and goes by the time i get to the end of the road. I only bought it 3 weeks ago so it is going back to the garage to get looked at (Main Dealer)

They advised it is a normal noise but will keep it overnight to double check it.

My mates 99 WRX does it as well from cold but my old WRX bug eye didnt!

Just the same as mine there.

I heard that some uk turbo iirc around 98-99 had a problem with piston slap due to short piston skirts but I'm guessing its something to do with the design or material the 02sti pistons are made from, hence my first engine question.

Let me know what the dealer says to you mate

Hmm, could it be the forged pistons??

I read a few of the fast boys have fit sti7 bottom ends, maybe this could be why?

Turbotits, what does you car go like with your spec? Did you have it RR'd?
