Inexpensive tuning options for 2.5 Turbo ??
I have recently purchased a 2007 Forester 2.5 XT T.
After many years of owning tuned turbo-charged petrol engines (1986 Phase 1 Renault 5 GT Turbo tuned from 120 hp to 170 hp, 1990 Phase 2 Renault 5 GT Turbo tuned from 120 hp to 150 hp, 1996 Audi A4 1.8 Turbo tuned from 150 hp to 205 hp), I wondered whether I could simply purchase an adjustable boost wheel (dampfrad in German) and blow off valve to fit to the Subaru 2.5 Turbo engine to increase the maximum power output from 230 hp up to about 270 hp ??
I do not intend to use the increased boost pressure for long durations at full power, just for short bursts of a few seconds .... for any longer periods, I would wind the boost pressure right back down to standard.
Any advice would be appreciated .... and any modifications must be fairly cheap (a universal adjustable boost wheel costs about Euro 25, a blow off valve costs about Euro 50 on www.eBay.de) and must be "invisible" to the stringent TUEV (German MOT) roadworthiness test examiners !!
Regards,
Dave.

Many thanks - should my local Subaru dealer be able to do this ?
I only know of one specialist tuner for turbocharged cars in Germany (http://www.digi-tec.de), but they are both expensive and wildly overclaim power gains (claimed 55+ hp gain for my Audi A4 1.8 T, actually achieved only 34 hp increase a few years back) - plus they don't list any Subarus amongst the vehicles on their web site.

Your subaru dealer will not remap your car, unfortunately... Don't know if the PPP ("Prodrive Performance Package" - remap with fuelpump and different catalytic converter, I think) kit is available in Germany either, unfortunately (or indeed if it's even available for the 2.5)
Best bet is to get someone to remap it... Perhaps you could take a trip to England, it's only a couple of hundred km if you're in the right part of Germany JollyGreenMonster on here (respected tuner, in spite of the name: JollyGreenMonster.co.uk) should be able to meet you somewhere in Dover for example, as he lives in Kent anyway.
