DIESEL into PETROL tank / Impreza

DIESEL into PETROL tank / Impreza
I've put £8 worth of diesel into my impreza, its an early model and it's decat so it cant wreck the cat.
I didn't start it immediately. It already had about £5 or less of SUL in there, realising my mistake I filled it to the brim with SUL (£31), then started it as I was F'ing miles from home, tired, wet and p1ssed off with myself if the truth be told .
I drove it with a diesel / SUL 1:3 ratio mix for about 5 miles to somewhere I could leave it parked up for the night, then got home by other means.
Going to pick the car up today and I'm wondering whats best do to? I've searched previous posts and google and think I have 3 options :
1. Nurse it home very gently as it is, take every opportunity to top up with SUL to dilute the diesel. Found a post on scoobynet where a chap did this and had no problems thereafter.
2. Siphon it and then refill with petrol. Should be able to do that.
3. Drain it from the fuel tank "caps". I'm not afraid of a spanner, but have never even looked at an impreza fuel tank, where are these caps? Are they easy to locate/undo?
Really stressed about this to be honest so advice much appreciated. Poke fun if you want but some useful info would be nice too. Option 1 would be the easiest, it seemed to drive fine for the 5 miles I drove it.
Please, only offer advice if you've had experience of this yourself, I already know from other threads that diesel and petrol dont mix thanks.
Cheers fellow Scoobnetters.

Do you know anyone who is in the AA?
If so, get them to come along and pick up your can, the AA will then cover the passanger.
They should drain it for you.

If its driving ok then drive it, ok you have had a "blonde moment" (no disrespect, I like blondes), but since you have diluted then it shoud survive, suggest doing what you are doing, draining and refilling is the absolutely best option but if thats not possibe then drive gently, refill every 1/4 tank and it will work itself out, suggest after two 1/4 tank refills you take it to the fuel light (assuming the model year) the refill, bear in mind it will still take two tanks after that to clear out completely.
It would be driving badly if it was unhappy.
best regards

Drive gently and keep topping up with SUL and you'll be fine. And remember next time petrol is generally cheaper than diesel

Hello, it's CC logged in under a different username, can't login as CC and im not getting email reminders for my password lol (or maybe im an imposter ).
Anyways, I left to pick up the car not long aftert this post as i had to get a move on (it was 200+ miles away lol).
The car did indeed run fine for the short journey before being parked up.....i really really nursed it home, hardly revving it, and filled it up with SUL three times on the way home just to dilute the diesel.
The only thing i experienced detrimentally was on occasion, it would be a bit lumpy when starting off from a standstill, once moving it was fine. I was looking out of the back alot, it did puff a bit of smoke once or twice but not alot!
I've been using it since and topping up with SUL, the lumpiness when starting off occurs now again....think someone suggested plugs....seems like they deffo need changing now...just a bit of hesitation now and again. Will do filter and oil too.
THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH fellow S Netters, a good bunch you are .
PS glad to be back, my 5th Scooby, love em.
EDITED to add : i've bought a 96 wrx ra, non sti, has some nice bits such as i/c spray etc, i can tell the gearing is shorter and so on....but i can also tell it has little soundproofing and to be honest its doing my head in lol!!! It's too loud, it has an aftermarket pipe which is a bit irritating, can anyone recommend a nice exhaust that isnt restrictive but is not stupidly loud? Does anyone want to trade for a very loud stainless? Will accept another quieter stainless.
