Question Aux belt...

Is this something i could easily replace at home with a bit of common sense?

its split in two, and im not sure how long it will last.

am i right in saying that the A/C, alternator, and PAS pump run of this? not the waterpump or anything important so to speak?

Cheers,

Mark

If you've got air con that runs on its own belt & the alternator & power steering run on a second belt, water pump runs off the cam belt.

And yes its an easy job, 10 & 12mm spanners just about all you need.

Take the black cover off the top, loosen the 2 bolts securing the alt & unwind the long bolt until the belt slackens, you may have to give it a helping hand with a mallet if its been on a while. Be careful not to move the alt to far down especially if you have an oil press gauge as the sender is under it.
The a/c is same principle but I think the long bolt is at the bottom rather than the top.
