Default Help!!! Fuel pouring out of exhaust on tickover afetr mods???

HI, had my 94 wrx in bits for a while now,had fitted:

Autobahn 88 front mount,
K&N typhoon,
Turbo up pipe,
440 injectors ,
Apexi Power Fc

Struck the car up for the first time today and within 2 minutes of idling found a huge puddle of fuel on the floor next to the tailpipe and when revved a cloud of white smoke!

Is this simply a mapping issue as i havent yet had the power fc setup for my car although it was fitted to a car with very similar mods. Or do i have major problems??

fuel shouldn't be bypassing combustion like that? was it running ok when you had it switched on?

If you have neat fuel on the floor it’s a leak and nothing else.

wouldnt of thought any amount of "mod" would cause neat fuel to get into the exhaust system, surprised it was running with neat fuel poring into the bores/out the exhaust ports

i would guess its water mixed with a bit of exhaust gas. Normal this time of year particularly if youve done some work on it. there will be condensation everywhere

Car seemed to be running ok idle was just a bit all over, revved nice and smooth and everything seemed to be ok apart from the fuel coming out of the exhaust and the white smoke.

Fuel pressure reg is set at 3 bar??

When i bought the apexi power fc the unit was second hand and was previously mapped at andy forrest. The previous owner had near identical mods to me but ran 440 injectors, so i bought a second hand set.

My problems have only happened when ive fitted them along with the power fc.
just tried re fitting the old 380s and i have no problems except for idle.

Could the injectors be faulty?

If youve got white smoke it would sugguest its burning/heating water. how long did you run it for with the replacment injectors in?when this smoke was coming out?

i recon at a guess the up-pipe/intercooler were all damp/full of condensation, hence the smoke. I would guess from my experience of fitting exhausts/turbos and the like. They all smoke for at least 15/20mins til everythings nice and hot and has burnt of all the excess oil and water.

I think you should re-fit the injectors and give it a good while to warm up

I fitted 550cc injectors, FMIC, new up-pipe and FPR along with a Power FC and the car idled fine and ran fine by driving very sensibly (not using much throttle and allmost no boost at all).
I did very few miles inbetween fitting the parts and getting it mapped too.

Your fuel pressure regulator (assuming it is a new aftermrket one??) is possibly plumbed in the wrong way around and you would be feeding the injectors with the full unregulated force of the pump pressure.

as has been suggested either an Oring on an injector or more than one is leaking into the bore.. careful not to hydrolic lock the engine.. remove spark plugs and spin over (disconnect coil packs!) and see if you get a fountain of fuel out with injector plugs off.. ie. there should be no fuel.
Or the fuel pressure reg is fitted the wrong way around.. also suggested already and so the fuel pressure is too high now.
