There are a couple of turbo's capable of making 500 bhp in standard position, Rotated turbo kts can vary, Mine was a snip at £1300 new, but realistically your looking at £2K+

Pretty sure this figure was reached using race fuel + mapping....

Like Conrad says, the 450bhp rating is on the conservative side. There are a few people who have achieved circa 480bhp on V Power, and some others who have achieved circa 500bhp running either race fuel, or a methanol mix.

It does of course depend on the car set up, and mapping.

There are some bigger versions currently being tested, with the aim being circa 500bhp on V Power.

Currently running 520bhp on a stock mount SM FP Red.

Should be back on the dyno soon with a V-Power/Meth/NF mix and a little more boost. May also try some race fuel similar to what Terry ran

V-Power & NF @ 1.9bar iirc.

Currently using V-Power with Methanol and boost is now a healthy 2.4bar. Butt dyno says it's faster

We're getting very similar BHP results from 2.0lt > 2.5lt, with torque being the main difference between engine size.

iirc we got on Terry's car 455bhp on Vpower, 470bhp on vpower + meth and 504bhp on race fuel... it was still producing more power with each degree of timing that I added when we got to 504 but had to keep in mind it's sole use was Time Attack not the odd WOT on the weekend

Boost was around 2bar tailing to 1.85bar iirc..

There is no reason why you cannot go a long way past 500bhp on road fuel and approach 600bhp on race fuel with the turbo mounted in the O/E position.
It is down to having the right mods and turbo.
I had to cut the lug on my gearbox bellhousing for the turbo to fit but it did the business.
Out of date but index
