mini vs scooby

Hi ppl just fitted the purple fin to my hks and was expecting a churping sound(like the rally cars have) but it sound abit like if not the same as the standard silver one.Anyone else have the same experience??

Cheers Dave....guess i was wrong about the chatter sound then!
any ideas how to get the chatter sound like the rally cars? been in a scooby ages ago which gave off the same sound,thought it was mint!

Usually heard this on my classic with an induction kit fitted (sound is the turbo chattering when you back off on the go pedal mate)

if your after "chatter" you need to remove the bov all together, block off the pipes and have an induction kit, as the chatter sound is the sound of unused boost hitting the turbo fins, but wouldnt recommend doing it for to long as the theroy of it isnt good for the turbo. hth baz

The way to do it is to change the turbo inlet pipe for a silicone, as soon as i did that I got the chatter sound through the induction kit using a baileys dv. Drove like a bag of **** though so removed it in the end.

I've got an HKS SSQV and mine came with the purple one already in it as standard. I love the sound, it makes a nice whoosh at low revs but nail it and it makes an awesome high pitched chirp. I don't know what the other coloured 'fins' sound like, anyone know which colours make which sound?

i got a baileys on mine at mo but bought a hks bov ssqv my self the other day as i herd they are surpose to be so mush better still have to fit it as of yet

The standard turbo intake pipe suppresses the noise you want, I fitted a straight pipe to mine & it was loud as you like - chirps, squeals, hisses you name it. Have a look at my HKS RS kit 4sale & see if you can get 1 made up like I did.
