Default Is this a decat pipe?

Hello everyone, recently bought a Feral exhaust for my car (2002 WRX) and have just fitted the whole lot except this pipe, but I'm not sure if this pipe replaces a CAT on the car. It goes at the front of the vehicle. Can anyone tell me if this does replace the CAT?

Cheers

The WRX has an extra CAT in the up-pipe and this replaces that CAT. Th STi doesn't have a CAT in the up-pipe.

Def de-cat. You can always tell by just signing a light down the pipe, if you see a fine mesh, that's a cat, if just a clear bore, no cat.

Make sure you're ECU is okay for a de-cat as it could flag a CEL - Ecutek mappers can switch these errors off easily...or buy a electronic box to "alter" the signal from the o2 sensor so it thinks cat is still there - I've got one from an 02 WRx (Scoobysport item) if you want it with simple wiring diagram.

Thanks for the replies, so the general opinion is that this pipe will knock another CAT out of the exhaust system? It just surprises me that subaru could fit a CAT in such a small length of pipe.

Cheers

The WRX definitely has a cat in the up-pipe. Should be the first one to remove before thinking about further tuning. They have a habit of disintegrating and the next thing in the exhaust system it the turbo. Bits of cat flying into a rapidly spinning turbo tends to break it.
