Default Idle problems.

Having recently had my engine out whilst the car was away at the bodyshop, I have just reinstalled it with a few changes. The car was running fine before the engine came out.

The changes are tubular manifold, HKS filter, silicon intake pipe, replaced fuel pressure regulator with Fuelab one, revert back to previous VF22 turbo.

The problem is that the car idles at approx 500 rpm and is very lumpy (enough to rock the engine in the bay) Have tried adjusting the idle control valve to no avail the tickover rises but the tickover is still lumpy and when you try to rev it, it does not respond.

This is driving me up the wall so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Are all the air intake ossaciated pipes firmly attached? Dump Valve faulty? Intercooler pipework? Vacuum hoses? etc..

All pipes secure.
DV was working correctly before had engine out and still moves freely.
All intercooler pipes are secure and tight.

Did have ICV venting to atmosphere but having spoken to Alyn at AS Performance have now plumbed this back in to the intake.

When it was VTA the car would fire up fine and then die in about 10 seconds.
Now it is really lumpy but stays running.

Could the ICV be faulty?

Doesnt seem to be as when I had it VTA and turned it fully one way or the other the revs rose or fell as you would expect and it all spins freely when you push it with a screwdriver.

if you disconnect the icv coneector the revs should rise to about 1000rpm. It should however be smooth at this rpm.

And when its connected the car runs awful? Try that next perhaps. Or, is it plumbed back correctly?

Question

Is it running on all 4 cylinders???
Could be a plug lead not connected properly... Or maybe a poor connection to a injector...
A mate of mine had a injector feed go down on his old scooby... run lumpy and low idle...

Does it clear when revved or does it stay there?

OK tried that but the car now dies instantly.

Fired up but only for a few seconds with or without the ICV plugged in.
