Wink Blow off or Dump!

Hi all, I've got an '04 plate STI and am about to get the PPP for it and wanted to get a Dump or Blow off valve, preferably a BOV. Can anyone recommend a good one to get and how much it is likely to cost. A friend said there was an HKS SSQV which looks good, but then some one else said to go to Bailey Motorsport for one????
Any suggestions welcomed.
Cheers

i've been thinking the same and have been lokking about for info and the hks one seems to be the best option and you'll find one for between 200 and 220, baily do a dump valve for about a 130 i think as i had one on my old 03 wrx. the hks sound better but everyone has their own opinion on that, hope this helps

Neither, recirc ! Apart from noise, what do you expect your expensive new device to achieve ?

I'd like to see that statement justified and proven please. Sudden negative intake pressure potentially causing turbo stall, along with overfuelling, backfiring, borewash, cat damage, valve damage, erratic running, increased fuel consumption and a reduction in performance sounds like symptoms which might reduce the life of some component parts. But it will make a noise that the baseball cap/tracksuit wearers will be impressed with

Each to their own. Bye.

If i had search facility i could prove it,but i dont.

recircs are not as good as people with them make out.

dumping the air not needing is better than causing the turbo to stall with the air reciricng

but we could go on like ariston on this one,as has been done and done and done, but i dont have search to prove it.

A BOV will cause stall due to negative pressure. A recirc is used specifically to prevent that and slow the turbo. Remember, the air being released by the BOV has been metered and so fuelled for. Releasing it from the system is not a good idea unless you are running a non-MAF based ECU set-up.

As far as I know the HKS SSQV BOV does recirc and is adjustable as to how much air is released and how much is recirc'd.
And the noise is awesome!

stick with the standard recirc,if you want d/v noise then chuck the wing resanator in the bin

I suggest mine : Baileys DV12.

Was on my 01 WRX when i bought it last year. Worked very well - swapped it for std OE dump valve 3 weeks ago. Makes a distinct pssssscht sound !

£65, delivered.
