Question how to get rid of MAF?

Ok so i know you can put an aftermorket ecu on that uses a MAP system instead of the MAF, but is there any option to do that without using an aftermarket ecu, that isn't gonna cost silly amount to do?

Yes, you can by a standalone box that uses the engine speed and MAP signal to create a MAF reading, but it needs mapping, can't remember off the top of my head who makes them, try google searches like 'MAF delete'!

At the moment an aftermarket ecu is a must.

There may be one under developement that can be used with an ecutek (assuming your car is new enought for one of them) but you'll be paying almost the same amount.

Why do you want to get rid of it?

Eurospec offer the MAPECU, don't really know a lot about it but they use it to map the UK's fastest GTO (which they built) and the UK's most powerful N/A FTO which is also theirs. One of their mechanics has one on their own subaru. I'm off up there tomorrow for a service so I'm going to have a chat to them about prices and details.

Give serious consideration to the Simtek/Sigma which has no MAF sensor, is 24 x 24 closed loop boost, closed loop fuelling, individual cylinder trim, CEL Knock Warning, In gear boost so no need for an AVC-R or any other auxillary boost controller, etc. etc. and anti-lag as an option if that sort of thing appeals to you.
