wrx boosting problem
hello my name is adam im new to the site i have recently purchased a 96 wrx wagon import
i have a problem with the cars boosting
so far what i have done is changed spark plugs, taken off baileydump valve tried that
taken off all intake boost pipes checked if any plastic ones are split all ok
description of what happens,
from day to day this problem changes say monday i can get in car n it feels like a sport model then tuesday all of a sudden it will take off driving normally
now if when driven normally i take it to higher speeds causing load on engine it will loose power
engine seems sweet no rattles etc
dump valve is obviously louder when runnin boost as it should
this car used to be an auto converted to manual so apart from it maybe being an obvious turbo/actuator problem i just wondered if the person who done conversion may have forgotten a sensor or maybe ecu change
so please if any1 can help please point me in the right direction.. thankyou

i have a wrx import too mate. its a 95 manual wagon. i had the exact same problem. you should have a td04 on your engine, which would mean your boost solonoid comes in an out all the time. they get abit tired. so throw it away. got a boost gauge, air fuel ratio meter. an a bleed valve. which will send a shiver up most people's spine on this site, but each to his own. ive done those exact things an its bin spot on!!!
p.s IF you do get a bleed valve, set it, then leave it ALONE!! dont be tempted to turn it up for for fun. it will end in trust me. if your keeping your td04, about a 1bar is fine, (tis for me) hope this helps dude.
p.p.s you may now proceed to take the pi$$ out of me 'scalsey'

I lost almost 50% of the power in my 95 WRX last week and it was the wastegate actuator! Subaru charged me £50 to put it back on!
But my car is actually faster now its on right!
