Default 311 bhp...is this right?

Hi iv been looking through my history on my new scooby, i have noticed a RR print out for it
Its 311bhp @ 7040RPm and 289 lbs/ft Torque
The only mods on it is a 3" decat and exhaust and a pannel filter
The chap said it hasnt had any other mods since he got it imported 4 years ago, altho it has had a recent bttom end rebuild.

Is this right for the kind of mods?

BTW its a 1999 WRX STi Type R Version 5

Cheers.

Could be possible yes, but soe RR differ quite alot, aslong as you're pleased with the performance and it drives good the i'd not worry to much about numbers...

Id get it remapped if it hasnt been done already, v5 STi's are notorious (and v6's) for engines going due to a lean spot in the ecu map, decatting wont help either and you will need to run the car on the highest octane fuel available and octane booster (these are designed to run 100/102 ron fuel).
Not scare mongering but engine rebuilds are about 3k, remaps about 650 and half the time you may not notice the engine detting itself into oblivion .

yes, but i am still going to use a octain booster on track days etc, but normal day to day use, once remaped stick to the same petrol (v-power etc) and you will be fine
