have seen a apexi exhaust valve, like a butterfly falve that can close off the pipe work abit, but i think it will be to restrictive,

sooo many different exhausts out there, but not sure what to look for, i love the nur spec, but it is just to loud for the track

We fit quite a few Milltek systems to classic and newage cars, they are true 3 inch systems, good for power. At SSO one of our customers ran his newage car with one, 12.34 1/4 mile and 89db on the static noise test.

H+S Headers, and turbo back Revolution on my 400 bhp classic, passed all noise tests at Castle coombe and they are pretty strict.

Other than that, as Pavlo says.
Full 3" decat Miltek.

I love my Milltek - nice sound and never going to fail a static noise test. Drive by is another matter when on boost. As Paul says the exhaust 'works' well and that was more important for me.

Its quiet on cruise but fruity and deep when opened up.

Mine got a static 94db at Snetterton on Wednesday but i think I revved a little higher than the 2/3 max.

would a resonated centre section be enough, with out losing power, and if i get one that is 3" where it joins the down pipe, it will be a full 3" system, unlike how it is now, where the centre section joins the down pipe, it goes down to 2.50-2.75 from the nur spec centre section.

so bu fitting a resonated centre section, will it be quite enough, and will i lose any/much power?

thanks

Do you want a 3" downpipe, to pass noise limits or both?

i have got a 3" decat all ready, that mates onto a blitz nur spec r system.
i really like the sound the exhaust makes, but with the bung in, i think it is tooo restrictive.

so i was thinking of replacing the centre section, for one with a resonator in, but am unsure if it will make it quite enough (105db) and still keep the power up.

The revolution is the quietest in my opinion and doesn't appear to hamper the horses escaping at all, at the level I was running it at anyway.

i am sure Paul would agree that noise doesnt necessarily mean power.

just be done with it, if you are keen to do more track days, and get a system that will produce the power and pass the noise tests.... Miltek is a little louder than Revolution and for a full decat system isnt expensive at all considering you can sell your Nur Spec on to anyone not on track and probably cover half of the costs.

All 3 inch system will give a nice sound on boost but with the larger tailpipe of the blitx the sound is too loud for most track officials unless you are lucky

yes, the down pipe is 3" bore where it joins onto the centre section.
the the end of the blitz centre section is standard size bore, that gois onto the down pipe with the rest of the blitz pipe work being 3"

You either want it to pass noise tests or you don't??

Keep the Nurspec back box then and have it modified to fit the rest of the revolution when not on track.

Track = full revolution
Road = Revolution downpipe+centre, nur spec back box.

looks like i may have to look down that route, i was hopeing that a resonated centre section would be enough, as the blitz is really just a stright through pice of pipe!
