for a lad i no just got the car its a uk my00

When thrashing say i'm coming out of an island in second gear. i put my foot on the floor boost comes in but not as much as it normally does. if i ease off and plant it again it will go. WHY?

Also when say in 5th i put foot down and you hear the turbo spooling up and down up and down. is this right?

My m8 has had a look at the actuator and he said it looks fine. i'm running it on V Power and i always fill to the top.

told him to try ecu re-set but no engine light comes on (the light dose come on when first started )

Try clean your boost solonoid, known to stick with oil residue over time, would give those symthoms you describe on that MY

 

That would also be my suggestion as its free. Clean all the sensors in that area, and their hoses through with brake/carb cleaner. Also you could check for leaks on all the boost hoses and around the intercooler. You may be able to hear a hiss or spray some soapy water and watch for bubbles.

 

Cleaned the solenoid it didn't help,

It only does it in second and from about 3500rpm, it should boost to 20psi but only boosts to 10 psi right round the rev range, if to accelerate from below boost the turbo spools and boost perfectly

Not to hijack the thread but my car does the same thing (mods documented in "view my scooby").

However when standard my car did the same thing as did my dads MY98 UK.

NeilP1 is it like the sympotms I described above as mine and my dads only did it in second gear.

its not my car and have not been in it so from what you describe then you are spot on

 

hello it is my car neilP1 is describing. did have a bleed valve on it when i got it a couple of weeks ago. i think it may have been fuel cut off from over boosting or this ecu bug. haven't had a problem since i took the bleed valve off apart from last night coming out of an island but i only had about 1/4 of a tank fuel so that may have been the problem
