Boost peaking briefly at 1.4
Hi,
My STI3 has just come over from Japan and seems to go rather well.
This evening I managed to get the boost gauge working. It was previously only reading 0 as the end of the pipe that goes into the sensor thing (sorry, that's as technical as I get...) had split.
Sorted this and it now works. However, under maximum acceleration the warning light on the gauge flashes on before the boost settles and holds at around 1.1bar. The memory function on the gauge shows 1.3-1.4 as being the peak which seems very high?
With more gradual acceleration it boosts steadily to 1.1.
Is this normal? Is the gauge just inaccurate?
No sign of fuel cut or anything like that. Just keeps pulling.
Car is running with V-Power and Miller's Octane Plus.
thanks for any advice
Alex

Absolutely - is there any easy way of checking, by looking at it, if the ECU has been chipped?
This assumes that the boost gauge is accurate and to be believed.

Its an STi3 chaps, different 3 plug ECU, the expansion socket is not as you know it. If it is on the standard ECU, be very careful. Upon inspection we have found a bug in the MAF curve on certain ECUs that will make it run lean at higher loads (ie when you whack the boost up).
