Throttle Position 22% at idle ?
okay plug the SECS unit in today and it shows 22% throttle on idle... surely it should be 0% ?
It seems quite hard to hold a constant speed on the motorway.....
can i adjust the throttle cable to lower the reading? if so how?
car is a Subaru P1
TEK3 mapped, VF35 FMIC, 550cc
thanks

with ignition on but engine not running press the pedal to the floor.. do you get 100% before the floor or on it?
you need to adjust the sensor.. there are two screws securing it to the throttle body which when loosened slightly allow you to rotate it.
Anti clockwise will reduce the % iirc..
The throttle cable can also be adjusted but this is also altering the throttle butterfly.. it would be worth removing the intercooler and checking if the butterfly is shutting fully to therefore know if this is just a throttle position sensor adjustment needed or the cable. There is a throttle butterfly stop screw which you can wind in and out to adjust the butterfly stop position.
follow the cable and you should see it, when you move the throttle it rotates back against this stop screw.
iirc the closed throttle position for the Throttle position sensor is about 15%.. ie below this the ecu knows you are off the throttle so will cut the fuel on overrun and use the idle maps for idle etc..
You need to adjust to ensure it reaches 100% or nearly and just below 15% when off the throttle, if my memory serves me correct. Fairly sure the manual mentions the exact numbers.

right if i turn it anti clockwise will i lower the Full throttle positionas well? as i dont want to do that.
the full throttle % is fine. thats proberbly explains why my car is running poor at low revs as its fuelling too much
where are you based? may be i can pop over?
