some people have revved then to 8k with no issues, limited use but hard use if you know what i mean. I fully intend to use mine to 7500 even with standard STI5 valvetrain (which is the same as what woudl have been in P1 heads)

I have been making some enquiries myself, obviously there are many factors to consider (Valve clearance, gas flow, fuelling) which will all determine how safe your engine is at high rpms.
I am looking at getting a 2.5 with Wiseco Pistons, carillo H beam rods race bearings, cross drilled crank, I was told that is would rev upto 8500 rpm if required but recommended around 8000 rpm for maximum reliabillity.

As Andrew says........
Power will be dropping like the hindenburg at that point so you are not gaining anything by revving it that hard.
