Default AVCR Install Quick Question

Hi,

Just a quick question on the AVCR.

Am fitting one today in preparation for it to be setup by Jolly Green Monster in a few weeks time.

Am doing most of the leg work beforehand to make it easier.

Now then, can we connect some (or all) of the wires into the ECU, so the unit fires up and displays, but obviously NOT connecting anything in the engine bay.

Thanks.

You can connect all the wiring and install the MAP sensor and solenoid in their correct locations, you can also plumb in the MAP sensor but leave the solenoid plumbing for Simon.

Thanks Andrew,

On a Newage STI, where does the Apexi Map sensor need to be fitted.

I've read some posts saying tee into the dump valve pipe (I also have my boost gauge tee'd in there)

and other posts say tee into the front of the inlet manifold....

confused....

Any advice ?

just needs to be a vacuum line connection.. original MAP sensor is good.. depending on where you want to mount the Apexi MAP sensor obviously

Thanks Simon, I know where to tap it from now

Have done all the wiring to the ECU.

Have noticed that the speed reads in KPH not MPH. Is this just because its a jap product ?

I think it is because it is a jap product, however as long as your car reads in mph then the kph will be mph if you see what I mean

My car reads in mph. However the avcr display is reading the correct kph.

ie 60kph on the display and I'm doing 40ish mph.

yeah unfortunatly it is not switchable to mph.. although I guess if you really wanted to you could fit an electronic converter to the feed wire.

because you have a converter on your speedo cable so the original clock reads in mph rather than km.. the AVC-R is using the same signal..
