Default CEL help

Ive fitted a decat downpipe and decat centre to my 05 WRX and it had re-maped by mocom.
The up pipe is still standard.

Ive got a a cel light because of not having the cats and have got myself a mechanical cel fix (it a spacer that moves the 02 sensor in the centre pipe out of the direct flow)

What I want to know is will the cel light go off on its own once this is fitted or will some sort of reset be needed??

Ive herd of doing 5 restarts?? but what exactly does this mean??

it should reset itself once the problem has gone..

It is also to switch it off within the ecu.. rather than the mechanical fix.

Ask Mocom to "map out" the CEL using their EcuTeK software

Most mappers will have included it as part of their original mapping session.

Do not rely on mechanical or electrical fixes as they are not 100% infallible.

The problem is that its a 450 mile round trip to mocom.

So if a cel fix will give me some time without the CEL light on then it can only be a good thing.

I would contact Mocom just to check if they have mapped out CEL P0420 (the de-cat CEL), which they should have done.

If they have then it's not the De-cat CEL and you have the CEL lighting up for a different reason

Ask Mocom
