rebuild problem need advice quick
ok, i've took the pistons out of the block, i put them in order ready to mark as 1/2 & so on. but i kicked them, know they have right & left on them. but at the bottom of each piston, theres eather an 'a' or an 'b'.
so which pot does each go 'a' to the back or 'b'
and is it the same for the right side to the left.
please help.

Using logic here! If you took one circlip out from each side, and left the other clip in, you might be able to figure out which way they go back if you know which side they came out of!
i've just kind of read, there is a very slight difference in size from pist 'a' to piston 'b', is this true
does this mean the block is different to match each piston
i need to know how to sort this problem out.
thanks

If you look on the top of the block, each bore is marked with either an "A", or a "B".
So all you can really do at this point is make sure A's go in A bores, and B's go in B bores.
There should also be a dot on each piston, and this should point towards the front on all of the pistons.
Did you take the rings out too, and have they also been mixed up ?
If so, I'd get the bored honed, and new rings.
Mark.

why diden't scoobyclinic say anything like that. i asked them about getting a set of sti v4 pistons. they said some thing about some being 'a' & some being 'b', but they said i can not get it right as there are 'c' pistons too. but should it be the same for the sti pistons too, being eather 'a' or 'b'.
well thanks again
i'll be selling the pistons soon, how much can you get for them
