Why is my Scoob so bloody tempremental - is it the fuel
Ok My 99 classic has the following mods: full decat, Sti Fuel pump, STi Filter and has been mapped by Andy F.
I just cant understand it lately.
it recently put out a paltry 250bhp (well 249 to be precise) and it was running crap - looking at the curve it shoots up and then my boost just tails off.
i always run it on V-Power but to be honest it seems crap and other times my car goes like a rocket.
Saturday i went for a blast and it was running like a bag of nails popping and banging and it just felt slooooowww.
however got to congleton and had to stick more juice in, the transformation was almost unreal i it was like a different car.
even my buddy commented who came out on his CBR600 on how quick it was.
Can V-power go off at all??? or is it just tempremental???

yep it can go off, over time (dont know specifics) the octane will gradually reduce (been threads on here before or 22b cant remember)
Best bet is to stick to busy garages (main roads that type of place) instead of smaller garages as deliveries would be more regular etc giving more chance of having fresher fuel.
The other thing is it has been known for garages to use something else (unleaded instead of super)

I'm lucky to live a couple of miles from services on the M6 so always fresh fuel there - I never fill up at little garages. Don't trust 'em and not all have the higher octane fuel anyways.
