Default Filter Advice please

'lo peeps,

When my 00 classic goes in for its service in 2 weeks, I am thinking about what to do with the filter in there. Should I stick with the standard one that is already in there, or should I go for an induction kit? Or are there any other recommendations?

Ta,

Andy

What are the benfits of any of these? Will I gain anything by going for an induction kit of some kind?

Induction can cause MAF sensor issues - stick with a panel filter for now

Pod/induction kits alter intake path and flow, either allows quicker spooling or more airflow but trade offs are you'll need an intake rescale to prevent running usually too lean. If you gonna remap and your local laws allows it, then I would opt for a pod like Apexi which are dry element types. Otherwise as 'the chief' said, stick with panel and keep changing stock paper elements.

MAF controls the mix between air and fuel - I think

Oh, and its the Mass Air Flow sensor

Nope they do the same thing. A panel filter goes in the existing air box (large black plastic box to the side of the engine with a funnel at the front). An induction kit removes the air box and its restrictions to increase volume of air.

MAF can cause probs if using an induction kit on early scoobys, apparently better on the new age ones. There is a GB for K an N induction kit at the moment.

I got one of these Trust numbers from Graham Goode Racing.
Not got a single complaint, makes a lovely whistling sucking noise when giving it the beans too.
