02 sensor on de cat

Default 02 sensor on de cat

hi there folks, can anyone help me out wiv a bit of advice i have a '95 wrx sti and have acquired a bell mouth de cat pipe but the o2 hole is near top by turbo but my standard pipe 02 sensor is near bottom after cat. will i be able to put this de cat pipe and have no prob 's

only reason im askin is that so far getting mixed reactions from from various garages and to be honest think they want to fit it for me and charge me the earth for it when it looks pretty straight forward swap? or is it

The lambda sensor for your year of car, is in the manifold. The sensor below the cat on the downpipe, is a 'cat fire' sensor. This is not needed obviously when you de-cat, so just unplug the connector and leave it in the old downpipe.

All you will need now is a blanking plug for the hole at the top of the de-cat downpipe.

now no one has told me that one and i was looking to buy a new 02 sensor for for my de cat? ive seen a 02 sensor in manifold on drivers side so this is the actual 02 sensor then!
gotta admit i am trying to learn more about my car but at the moment its all a bit over my head and local subaru specialists just seem to wanna take my money

One of the easiest jobs on the scooby to be honest. Who were the so called 'experts' out of interest?

well my 2 local subaru specialists are foresters and central subaru
i could do with joining a local club eh!? just done a search on forums and learnt quite a bit! thanx for the advice jus need to get a bung now
