You can get a Perrin one for roughly £80.

I should imagine it's up to the job too.

The Perrin ones are good and come with fitting kit, hoses, clips and install instructions. They can be fitted in 2 port mode as factory using the factory piping or interupt mode using all 3 ports but you will need to have your wastegate maps adjusted if you fit it this way or your boost levels will change. I am working on the basis your car has a 2 port solenoid now. If it already has a 3 port then no point changing it.

Pressure from the inlet manifold or compressor outlet goes from their to the actuator.

In between theres a valve, bleed some of the air of from reaching the actuator and the boost level before the wastegate opens, rises.

Three port has three points on it,first from the compressor outlet or inlet manifold (not sure which on the Impreza)2second from the solenoid to the actuator.Thirdly,a bleed.

£60 brand new from America search ebay.com with subaru prodrive 3, should come up with it for $90, with postage it came to $105, so roughly £60.

Where there's increased boost, it has finer control of it and holding it.
