oil pressure gauge problems..need help plz?????

Default oil pressure gauge problems..need help plz?????

ive installed a electrical oil pressure gauge to my v3 sti.im am just wondering wot the oil pressurers shoud be as mine is reading just over 4bar wen cold and just over 3bar wen on warm idle and the same wen driving i have put the sender where the old pressure switch was under the autonator i have earthd the sender and insulated it but the gauge dont seem to be reading rite is this coz its touching the autonator????? any idears please............

Not about to give you a cure but to confirm that the readings you state are weird!
Typically - Cold running at >2000rpm would be around 6 - 7 bar when fully warm 5.5 - 6 bar. Fully warm idle around 2 bar. Depending on oil viscosity.

you can buy a kit that uses a braided hose so you can keeep the standard oil pressure sender, and fit the new sender to as well there £20 and won't touch your altanator.
could be shorting out

they can sometimes get clogged up so it doesn't read right happened on mine but it could be as its touching the alterantor to test if it is you could always slid some plastic between to see if you get the same readings but more likely needs a clean
