Default V3 STI vs.. UK heads? JUN camshafts didnt fit

I have ordered Jun Stage 2R camshaft kit from Japan for MY97 EJ20G but they didnt fit. The supplier told me that the camshafts will only fits to EJ20G STI engine.

What is the difference between EJ20G STI vs EJ20G UK engine. I thought they have the same casting for the heads. The camshafts that they have sent me fits on 01' WRXs so I doubt they have sent me the wrong camshafts? I need guidence here as I want to fit them.

the sti I believe uses different lifters or shims or something like that to the wrx/uk heads. This is partly what allows the sti engines to rev higher as well.

Wrote below and then noticed.. EJ20G is 93~96 head castings and the camshafts won't fit as STi3 is 97 ~ 98 head castings.. and for the EJ20K engine.

----------------------------

The castings between STi3/4 UK 97~98 and WRX 97~98 are the same..

I have UK98 castings with STi3 cams and valve train in..

the valve length, hydrolic v solid lifters and springs etc being different..

Therefore they should fit you would just possible struggle with valve bounce or clearances etc..

If they don't fit the castings then they are not STi3 camshafts imho..

As Simon said above - "The castings between STi3/4 UK 97~98 and WRX 97~98 are the same.." - Head Codes are LHB + RHB, the later heads with the twin thrust face's for the Cams- the Head Codes end in LH + RH C006,7+8.

It has phase 1.5 inlet manifold so HT leads not coils on plugs
