Default Can someone explain WOT to me please?

I'm a little confused on this, exscuse me for being thick but,

WOT (wide open throttle)

Is this with the pedal to the floor regardless of where the revs are at or is it dependant on when your revs approach the redline?

Reason for asking is my Detalrm lights up if I keep the revs up towards 7k with no boost showing on the boost gauge,
but in between gear changes when the pedal hits the metal & the boost hits 1.1bar, the detalarm doesn't show any activity. Keeping my foot planted & as the redline approaches, I get some red light activity at about 7k revs.

If the car was detting then wouldn't the detalarm light up when the boost hits 1.1bar no matter where the revs are at?

I'm hoping that it's just vibration from something else & not det?

Car is an STI 5 with a Blitz NUR Spec the only mod.

Thanks in advance & I apologise if this all sounded really stupid.

wide open throttle means exactly what you think it does. If your gadget is telling you something's happening at high revs but is not really connected to throttle position, then I'd guess it's noise from the engine. I'm no expert btw.

If its a Sti 5/6 then that will be det so don't do it. Strictly you should run it on V-Power withy booster always

cheers

Could be running lean at high rpm causing det. The fact that you get activity even with no boost suggests that is it not the fuel pump that is at fault, more likely the map or your MAF sensor.

Be very careful, red leds lighting up on full boost is something to worry about.

I got activity on mine even at partial throttle inputs in certain conditions until I got it remapped.

It could be something vibrating but best get it checked out by someone with detcans.
