Question Is it easy to adjust the actuator arm for slightly more boost?

Is it easy to adjust the actuator arm for slightly more boost? Not looking for a lot the ppp ecu I have on in my eyes is not giving out enough peak compared to other ppp ecus you lot on here have. Is there any down side to doing this as well?

I am sure there will be a lot of comments agreeing with me in saying "NO"This would be a very hit and miss adjustment. With possibly catastrophic results, save your engine then save your money to get the job done correctly.

Cheers. just been reading some older searches and the actuator and the brass t piece come up all the time. I am wanting the ppp ecu to boost up to 1.1 bar which it should and not the 1 bar it is at the moment. Cleaned the waste gate solenoid the other day and that was all clean inside so its not that.

I don't thin k that adjusting the actuator will increase boost AFAIK. I think it adjusts at what point the penny valve opens thus whn max boost is achieved.

could it not just be an inaccurate boost gauge????

Mmmm could just be that. Its a blitz boost guage that measures boost in KG/CM squared, now that is another word for boost pressure measured in BAR isnt it?

Alyn

Might just do that mate. What sort of price am I looking at? Can you maybe PM me it if you like?

the Kg/Cm isn't the same reading, from memory will show less boost............

think the 97 cars also maybe had a different boost restrictor, maybe Mike Wood could confirm??

Right here we go. The boost guage is in kg cm2 which means it is boosting at around 14.2 psi with the ppp ecu when you do a conversion. Thats a load of crap I think. Its got to be this boost guage reading wrong. I always thought it was reading in BAR not this kg crap. Time for a cheap new boost guage instead of this expensive one that reads wrong If this guage is reading fine though what could be the reason its boosting so low?

1 kg/cm2 = 0.980665 bar or 14.22334 psi

Restrictor on MY97-98's is the same iirc, both use the earlier two port solenoid to the MY99.

MY97 PPP was "less aggressive" than the MY98 iirc.

Instead of fitting a Dawes which disables the ecu safety features adjust the restrictor dia. to do the same job. (make smaller)

How do I do that though bob? Smaller re-strictor? where do you get them from? Is it safe for the ppp ecu Also the ppp ecu I have is from a 1998 car! I have a feeling its the boost guage or its fitted wrong? The boost guage pipe is connected to a T piece with a brass re-strictor in it. This pipe then goes down to a control unit which is red/orange underneath the waste gate solenoid. Sound about right?
