Scoobyparts - Subaru Impreza parts and accessories
I am also in line for some new ones. I have heard that they are expensive but are very good.

I got PIAA ones, they are good for sure, but they do sort of smear slightly. I aint sure smear is the right word, but they leave like a smear after they wipe but only slightly, more noticable at night.
Scoobyworld also sell them.

Remember if buying PIAA ones online to get the right sizes.

AFAIK Classics are 7 & 11

Newage 6 & 12 but don't quote me

Might go back to Bosch for my next set though.

I've always been happy with Bosch. The PIAA are supposed to leave a thin layer of silicone on your screen, which is fine as long as your screen is absolutely spotless beforehand. I've had PIAA bulbs in the past which were a revelation, but I wouldn't buy anything which coated my windscreen in silicone. IMHO

The PIAA are very expensive and after a time they leave a smear on the screen which comes back within quarter of an hour of driving in the rain.
This is a big hazard in heavy rain in the dark especially.
They do have silicone or something on the rubber when new which covers the screen with a fine film and disperses water from the screen above 45/50 mph or whatever. This means you can use intermittent wipe for a lot of the time. .
Best of all is to apply Rainex plus their screen wash concentrte. Until you have tried it you will not appreciate how good it can be. You will only need intermittent wipe occassionally. The screen must be thoroughly clean prior to application
The down side is that unless applied regularly which can take 20 minutes, it looses effect.

When you say, go back to Bosch, is that an ordinary wiper? Or do you mean their version of the PIAA type ones? Can you post the type, etc please?

Normal Bosch rubber blades with a spoiler. Didn't know they did silicone versions now.

Also like Harvey, I'm a great advocate of Rain X, get it from Costco in a twin pack with windscreen cleaner to prep it.

Have used Bosch which are good, but would say the PIAA's are better.
