Default Problem with AVCR Inj duty reading!

I have my AVCR wired into my MY98 WRX and it works fine although the reading stays at roughly 50% all of the time. My commander shows the correct changes in duty cycle.

Im wondering if this is to do with my wiring? There were 2 options for the purple wire? or one of them anyway for Inj duty and then something else that I cant remember.

Any ideas as to what the 2 options are and how the display is affected.

It show's 50% because it's wired to the Tacho output from the ECU and not to an injector output. The tacho output frequency changes with engine speed but the mark space ratio of the signal remains constant at 50%, whereas the injector signal changes in both frequency and mark space ratio (which is what the AVCR is looking for).

Andrew, Banny,

Thanks for the info, will have a look at my wiring. Cant imagine it makes any difference to the operation of the AVCR in controlling boost.

You want it to be connected to the tacho output. If you use one of the injector lines, you can get the Inj IDC, but the gear dependant or RPM features will not work, which is the main reason to have an AVCR in the first place.

Yes of course it is.

You can't read Inj duty cycle when the avc-r is connected to the tacho, you can read RPM OR Inj duty, NOT both.
