Does anyone know where can I find a quick ratio steering. I currently have the std 15:1, I can find the RA which is 13:1, but I need shorter than that.

what does quick ratio mean... you turn the wheel less or more than usual?

Also referred to as a "quick rack" Simply the wheels move a greater distance for a shorter movement of the steering wheel.

 

The original question was if somebody knows where can I buy a quick streering, quicker than the RA.??????????

 

I got a quick rack from API. Not sure what ratio it is though, I thought it was 13:1 TBH, but they will tell you.

 

New age JDM STi cars have a quick rack fitted at 13:1 ratio which is same as old Spec C on the bug eye. This rack will not easily fit a GC8 car as the spline on the steering column is different and the knuckle with a different spline between the top half and bottom half is not made as far as l know.

I have heard talk that a Forester one does the job, but nobody can say for sure or knows who did it ?? Some say Prodrive for the rally cars, but they deny it. Maybe the idea of the Forester one is Scoobynet ' folklore '

If you need one for a 2001 / 2004 car we have stock. 2005 is different again. [ still old shape - blob eye - car ]

I have no idea for the 2006 car yet, but it's probably the same as the 2005 car, is my opinion.

What steering does the STi JDM 1999 have?

Also, what I am actually looking for is a quicker than the 13:1 of the RA, one with 12:1 ratio. If I cannot find one I will go for the 13:1 of the RA.

 

I only have the one for the 2001 - 2004 car.

Are they 13:1 David? I cannae remember what you said when you fitted mine to my MY03 WRX.

 

How many turns lock to lock does 13:1 equate to..?

 

2.6 turns lock to lock, I think.
