Need advice please !
uk turbo my99
1st problem:
car judders when pulling away after startup (engine always idled to temp 1st)
after a mile or so judder dissapears.
2nd problem:
When starting in the morinings check engine light appears for 20 seconds then goes out for a minute then, re-appears for a brief few seconds and so on.
But this does not always come on nor does it have any frequency.
just a bit miffed as to whats causing it and cant afford to take it to a dealer to be charged £100+ and they tell me they cant find a fault!
Any help and advice is welcomed.
Thanks.

If it's an MY99 you can check the fault codes yourself without having to pay a fortune at the dealers.
See here www.derekcarswell.co.uk
for instructions. Use the two green plugs and two black under the steering column. You may be best actually resetting the ECU rather than just code reading it....
As for the judder - is it just clutch judder? Had the same problem with mine - a full bore start from the traffic lights always used to cure it for a couple of weeks. I have since had a new clutch fitted though - which has cured it completely

when the CEL is on and engine cold.. see if rad fan is running.. could be the engine coolant temp.
Did you reset the ecu and then check for error codes? so blanking the history?

if you reset the ecu the code stored will be erased.
Connect just the black connectors.. and turn the ignition on and the error code should be flashed on the CEL.
