Block: Closed Deck or not?
Hi y'all. Looking for a spare block to play with as a project. Is there anyway I can tell if its a closed deck or not by code number or from the car it was removed? Have a few potential blocks but have not been taken apart so looking for any clues
Cheers

The hatching is on all the heads, don't muddle it.. the hatching on the block identifies a close deck block indeed. The vin plate will tell you nothing as not all the STi's had closed deck blocks and many cars no longer run there original engine anyway.
