Not sure about Scoobs cos I am on my first one but some cars have a sensor on the steering somewhere to tell the car to raise the revs while parking etc for the Powersteering so as to prevent stalling. Maybe that but dont quote me on it.

on early pre 96 the one wire to the pump at the bottom back is a static earth wire not necessarily required mine was leaking on my93 wrx removed wire and brass earth rod and aroldited up been running fine for last 4 years .
