Default just fitted new engine..havin probs

hi since fitting my new engine i cant get it to idle right..its on 2k revs on tickover..and also it seems to be missing on the drivers side front cylinder ive since put new plugs and coilpacks on it and the prob is still there...
ideas anyone?

Have you tried running it without the throttle cable fitted ? Could be a air leak into the inlet manifold, or it could be a lot of things. Use a length of hose pipe or similar holding on end near your ear and moving the free end closely around the inlet manifold, this should allow you to hear any air being sucked into the inlet manifold.

sticking injector? maybe swap it round with one from the side that works okay

check the idle valve.. two screws on it. . loosen and rotate it anti-clockwise and idle should drop the idle speed..
