Is anybody from S.Net using openECU/ecuFlash software to map their own ECU's- if so, whats your experiences been?
Gary.

Have they managed to flash the MY99/00 ECU yet ? Last time I looked no-one was interested in cracking that one.

cheers mate, that software has come along way since I lasted looked at the forum. Still a shame though that it doesn't yet support MY99/00.

Strange that the ECU that started the whole ECUTEK revolution hasn't yet been sorted by the opensource guru's

Maybe because it's being done in the US and they didn't have turbo cars when that ECU was used

I've reflashed my MY06 JDM STI Spec C Type RA ECU a few times now, no problems whatsoever.

Reflashing only takes ~ 15-20 seconds. The only real pain with reflashing is that you have to connect your test connectors under the steering wheel and jumper the flash block. Undoing and redoing this whilst you tune, reflash, tune etc is a bit annoying...

I use EcuEdit to modify the image, EcuFlash to read/write the images...my car has a 2.2L stroker, 800cc injectors and it runs perfectly by just adjusting the injector flow scaling and injector opening response time maps.

i've had perfect results with my usdm my03 wrx. i've probably flashed it about 20 times. the tune is getting better and better. i've got a lot of utec experience, and it still in the car, but the basemap i'm working out shall be a bit conservative and run on the oem ecu. then the utec is like frosting for when i get my alchy injection running.

on the test connectors, do yourself a favor and wire in a spst switch! much easier.

Do you use a wideband lambda for extra safety when youre remapping, or do you rely on the oem wideband one?

Thats the second time ive been told about putting a switch on the connectors.Seems the way to go

You need a wideband to set the fuelling. The factory sensor does not cover a wide enough range accurately enough to be relied upon.
