Default Power Steering Fluid

Hey all

How do you check the Power stearing fluid on a my99.

The power steering seems to have a whine on it everynow and again usually when hot.

hi

i had same problem , i have a 95 wrx and its at the front of the bay just unscrew the cap and there is a dip stick fixed to the under side of it ..

cost me 6.99 for the smallest tub they do and only needed a spoon full

but solved the problem

make sure you buy the right one , should say on the top of the power steering cap

anyway thats if they are the same as a 95

Quick tip - if it looks full but you're getting whining, it's not actually full. You can pour a quarter of a litre in and the level will stay still. So don't trust the level you can see, it will take a lot more before it gets to the max mark.

I used normal PS fluid from my local motor factors. Was about £3 or £4.
