has anyone transplanted an ej25 into a my98 5dr with ej16 in? is a complete loom replacement needed, or can the existing loom be adapted and just replace the ecu? thanks

 

Been done many times by the Yanks with their EJ18s (which I believe are identical to EJ16 except for con-rods), have a look for threads on www.nasioc.com

IIRC the EJ22 swap is easier from a wiring point of view; someone on www.ImprezaSport.net has done that swap (from EJ18 I think) with relative ease.
