Calling anyone with coded sills - are stonechips a problem?
#1
I'm considering getting the sills colour coded on me MY00 (silver) but my one concern is that they'll end up peppered with stonechips. Are mudflaps a necessity with the coded sills?

I've just bought a new to me MY99 which had the sills done from new. It's got the subaru mud flap on and the sills are chip free and make the car look great IMHO. Get them done but invest in some mud flaps.

I have an MY01 and I asked the dealer about having them done and the service manager warned me off as he said they get chipped quite easily. He could be worng though.

I've had mine done by a friend (£90 inc paint)and stone chips aren't a problem - even in the areas directly behind the wheels it's hardly noticable. Look underneath and they're pebbledashed with chips - but who looks undernead

I had my 3 year old car coded when I bought it and the only chip has been on the drivers mirror. IMO you must have the coding done as the difference in appearance of the car is immense, those unpainted bits of black plastic look bl**dy aweful.
