Fuel Pump no power

Fuel Pump no power
Hi All, hope someone can help
MY 98, 99 model classic UK Wagon, started this morning no problems, then cut out on the drive, turned ignition on, no noise from the fuel pump.
To cut a very long story short, decied it was either the supply to the pump, or the pump itself, put another live to the pump, starts & runs no problem
Several questions, does anybody know where the fuel pump relay is? found 2 round relays under the dash at the side of the fuse box, then a square 1 with another 2 round ones on the same mounting, again under the dash, checked all the fuses etc, all OK
Traced the fuel pump feed to the drivers footwell, if a direct live is supplied here it starts no probs
Seen a couple of threads on P1WOC, seems it could be a bad connection on the alarm, can someone with a classic tell me if when the red light goes out for the alarm although the engine will not crank, when the ignition is switched on, does the fuel pump buzz?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Paul

hi mate.
just had the same prob.
my mate from aqs motorsports fixed it for my, based near lakeside.
previous owners had taken out an alarm and one of the wires had come lose and blow a fuse, had to rewire to make safe.
if you call him he would be able to help you find fuse etc..

Graham (aka 911) had a similar problem on his classic that turned out to be something to do with alarm/immobilizer having disconnected the battery to fit pump. Immobilizer cuts power to pump, although it will start for a few seconds until the fuel in the supply lines is used up...iirc..?
Take a look in projects at his thread ("Bolt on ###bhp" or something) it's around page 3-5 iirc, or send him a PM '911'.
PS the pump should 'buzz' (prime) for a few seconds when ign is switched on..

OK Gents, just returned from the garage...............good news, all sorted
Was a bad connection on the fuel pump wiring
Fuel pump relay is the one at high level, the right hand side one as you look at it in a bank of 3, with the green connector, a real pig to get to :O
Just need to put it all back together tomorrow night
Thanks for all your help
