if it is a VF28, then that is about right, dont expect more than 340bhp before it's at it's limit

Dont just look at a turbo for 400bhp, it will cost you in more departments like the brakes, clutch, gearbox etc.
400bhp puts alot of strain on a car and you have to compensate somewhere, honestly, 320/330 is probably enough on a daily driver without causing yourself too many problems, if you want to just stick a big turbo on the car and have a remap then watch for big bills shortly afterwards

For 400 BHP, I would suggest a TD05H-20G, 550cc injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, water and/or methanol injection, 3 port solenoid, remap and a knocklink, should cost about £2000 if you buy some of the stuff used and do some of your own spannering. Your engine and gearbox if healthy should cope, suspension likewise, would change the front brake discs to ones with alloy bells with uprated pads and fluid and budget for a new uprated organic clutch - eg AP.

Exhaust and remap on your existing setup should do about 325 BHP.

you will need to do quite a lot to get a reliable 400bhp, including getting a stronger gearbox/gearset (and then the subsequent rebuild)
you can do it on the standard internals, yours being an Sti you have forged pistons already, which is good, it will also be quite laggy with the size of turbo that you will need for that power on a 2.0.

IMO if you get a FMIC, walbro fuel pump, better air filter and a remap you will get some good gains, see how you get on with what that will give you and see if you need some more then, if you still want more then you have a better base point to start with for the next stage of your modding

dannyg81, just injectors and turbo of your choice then. I'd definitely change the turbo, if I had your car I'd want to shove 30 PSI through a proper built engine to get silly torque. Your stock turbo will explode I think if you try that. Consider the Superzilla range, bolt on Garrett/P20 hybrids or rotated GT30R (0.63AR for spool up). If you can get it to full boost at half of redline RPM it should be OK as a track car. There is a lot of data on NASIOC about bigger turbos on 2.0s.
