My 93 wrx does exactly the same, slight missfire around 2k, not noticeable when driving. Heard it could be down to deteriorating coil packs??

tried new coils on mine and it is still the same, perhaps its a common fault on this age of impreza, would be good to hear from anyone else with this fault,or even a possible fix for the fault,

Hi, I had similar prob on my wrx, but you can spend more than the actual cost of sorting the prob by guessing what might be the cause, i nipped mine down to the Subaru Service Center (Sheffield) who plugged what looked like a very exspensive bit of electronics into somewhere behind steering colum and it told him which sensor wasnt working, it only took him 10mins. AND DIDNT CHARGE ME. WHAT A GUY!!!

Also some ppl get hesitating problem, mine and a couple of friends with scoobs have had same prob, and all it was, was the pipe that connects to the bottom of the intercooler the bolts come loose and even fall out. worth whipping the intercooler off and checking the rubber gasket/seal and putting some shake proof washers on bolts. this sorted mine.
