buying my first scooby tommorrow:new to these cars can any body tell me what a replacement coil pack is please

I'm not an expert but i've just replaced mine on a 93WRX.
They sit on top of each spark plug and give them loads of volts or something like that. Prone to cracking and cause missfires if they do.
Newer cars have coil packs i think which have leads that go to the spark plugs.
I got mine secondhand £20 ish pounds each.
Hope it helps, i'm sure someone clever will give you a better idea though
