I run my 2.5 (with forged pistons) at 1.35 bar on an AVO 400 Turbo I dont know what the bhp is, but it is roller coaster quick,And is so far totally reliable (13000 miles since fitting).

its hard to put a price on it,as the bottom end only was £1750 plus fitting.but i also ended up having a new turbo, exhaust, boost controller,h/d clutch, light weight flywheel, light weight pullies, erl water injection, uprated oil pump, fuel pump, regulator, remap and not to mention heat wrap and cam belt cover repaint.scoobyclinic did most of the work apart from fitting the turbo and exhaust.i suppose last year i spent around £10.000.the price of these conversions vary alot depending on what spec you want.i think the first figure i was quoted was around £5-6000.

i suppose to be extra safe if you can afford it you may as well.althought ive seen quite afew people on here with standard internals running 400/400 with no problems as i am.i would just add im no "expert"....i would advise you to get intouch with scoobyclinic or someone similar for the best advise.i think there are a few people on here that may also be able to better advise.it may also be worth doing a search.

If you're very careful and control detonation well, then the US pistons will suffice with a suitably sized turbo.

It's sometimes good to get as many views from different people as possible but be your best bet would be to speak to your engine builder and see what they suggest.
