Wheres the thermostat on a my93?
Can someone tell me where the thermostat is on a my93. My temperature since changing a radiator sits at around 91 - 92 whilst driving (on the commander, it will drop to the mid 80's for a short while if I use my lead right foot but climbs back up again)
I flushed the rad before fitting so I know that isnt blocked, and there isnt any air in the system, so I am thinking it must be the thermostat so just need to know where this is so that I can check it.

Hi. Look at were the bottom rad hose attaches to the block. The thermostat is located behind here. If you look from beneath it will be obvious. Sorry I cannot describe it in more detail as I am in the middle of the north sea so cannot look at mine for you.
Cheers. Mark.

Mate im getting the same after fitting an apexi power fc, think it may be that now rather than thermostat as have drained rad and still the same.
My car always sat quite cool around low to mid 80's when driving then maybe to go up to around 91 when sitting in traffic, which in turn turned the fan on and cooled to around 89 degrees and then turned off.
After using the apexi while driving, my temps go from 87 to 93 degrees, with the fan on a good lot of the time which isnt normal and when I bring the car home after a drive temps could be sitting at 91 - 93 with the fans on, which most of the time dont turn off as temps dont get lower than 91.
Bit p*ssed off with it

Im gonna change the stat anyway I think, as I have been told that this if it wasnt opening fully it could have accounted for a build up of presure in my radiator and helped the endplates to split.
